Our Team
Please be aware a change in university workloads for many of our teachers has meant some changes to rosters.
We will have teachers shadowing lessons as part of our teacher’s professional development. You may therefore have two teachers in some lessons as we each watch, learn and provide feedback to each other.
This is part of our continuing commitment to ensuring we have quality and consistency in our teaching and that all lessons continue to be tailored to meet the needs of your child.
We are confident that your child will enjoy all the programs and have continued success.

Kylie
Hi, I’m Kylie. I am married to Mal and we have two wonderful daughters, Caitlin and Aimee and 2 beautiful grandchildren plus 2 beautiful black Labrador crosses named Maverick and Artemis.
Our family loves to spend as much time as possible at the beach, swimming, surfing, snorkelling and fishing. My background is in teaching, training and management. One of my passions is cooking, particularly desserts and entertaining family and friends.
I am also very involved in netball across the State and in our local community.
I am privileged to be a local Councillor representing Wombolano Ward for Maroondah City Council and to be the National President of the Australian Local Government Women's Association.

Aimee
Hi, I’m Aimee. I have been working at Swim Like A Fish since I was 16yrs old and have a love for teaching people of all ages to swim and enjoy the water, while being safe.
As long as I can remember my family has swam, surfed, dived and fished. Anything to do with water and we are there.
I have 2 kids of my own, 2yrs old and 4yrs old, who I am now instilling that love of water into, and have been in the pool since they were 6 months old.
I swam all through my childhood and played water polo in high school. Water is my happy place and I can’t wait to teach your kids or you to have that same love of the water and understanding of how to be safe around all different types of aquatic environments.

Sarah
Hi, my name is Sarah or otherwise known as ‘Nanny Mac’. I am one of the managers here at the pool.
I have spent many years teaching here and have a passion for our little pre-schoolers, having spent a large part of my life as a Kindergarten Teacher. As my time in the water is less now, I have loved working with our new staff, helping them create a supportive and positive environment for our students to develop confidence in the water.
I have 2 grown up sons and a beautiful daughter in law who also works here behind the scenes. This year (2025) I became a grandmother for the first time to little Theodore. He brings me so much joy and will soon be swimming here.
In my spare time (not sure what that is these days!) I like spending time with family and friends, walking my dog and now being a grandmother.
I look forward to welcoming you and your family as you begin your journey here.

Lisa
Hi I’m Lisa, I am the bookkeeper and have been working with Swim LIke A Fish since the school opened in 2007. I started as a Swim Teacher and have been doing the books since 2014.
My daughter, Kim, was also a Swim Teacher for 5 years with Swim Like A Fish, while at university studying nursing.
My husband and son are both Builders.
I am passionate about water and water safety.
I played Water Polo for almost 20 years, and have been part of the Waratah Surf Life Saving Club for the last 15 years, including coordinating the Nippers program.
I am a dedicated swimmer and still swim twice a week. (Lisa wouldn’t say this, but we will, she is the current record holder of laps at the Olinda Pool!)

Lana
Hi there, my name is Lana. I am currently studying psychology at Uni. I have been a fish out of water since what feels like birth, and have attended swimming lessons from infanthood until I graduated from my swim program at 9 years old, and moved into squad swimming.
Swimming has been a passion of mine all of my life. I love the water and the comforting ease in which I can glide through the waves. My mum was the one who introduced me to swimming, as she cannot swim herself and never wanted my siblings and I to experience the fear and uncertainty she felt in the pool. I want to pay her back and pass on that sentiment by teaching others how to swim and ensuring that your kids learn to love the water as I do!

Paige
Hi everyone! My name is Paige and I’m 21 years old!
I’m currently studying a bachelor of nursing at ACU!
I currently play footy and netball! I have 3 siblings, 1 older brother and 2 younger sisters! My sister Scout actually works here too! I also have some very energetic dog’s named Frankie and Nellie! They are kelpie cross border collie and love to play with the footy!
I love being a swim teacher as I love to be able to share my love of swimming to others, especially those who are just starting their swimming journey! I used to be a swimmer myself where I swam in a state level squad and competed for Victoria!
I can’t wait to see you all around, both in the pool and on the reception desk!

Jacqui
Hi, I'm Jacqui. I have been a swim teacher for 14 years, teaching mainly pre-schoolers and infants but some school aged classes too.
I have two teenage children and two beautiful kitty cats. When I am not in the pool I am working at a school in Education Support. I love to travel and love crafting when I have the time, but most of all I love working with children, and watching them thrive and achieve their milestones.
Can’t wait to teach you all in the water!

Phil
Hi I’m Phil, I first started teaching here at Swim Like A Fish in 2023, and hopefully you can still see me around teaching babies, children and adults how to be more confident and in control in the water.
I live out in Templestowe with my mum, Paula; my older sisters Laura and Alice; and our dog, a labradoodle named Daisy.
Swimming has always been a big part of my life. I’ve swam in the Yarra and the beaches on Phillip Island every summer with my family for years. I’m a certified surf beach lifesaver. I did squad swimming a fair few times a week until I was 16. And I still participate in the open water swimming season with my uncle every year.
Swimming has personally taught me the benefits of good health and trying my hardest, so I get to enjoy being the best version of myself.
Feel free to give me a wave or say hello if you see me around. I look forward to meeting your family and helping show your kids how to be a happier and more confident swimmer :)

Gabby
Hey everyone, I'm Gabby and I do all the marketing & social media for Swim Like A Fish.
I am barely 5 foot tall and love working with children.
My husband Ben is a tradie and loves saying “I could build that, we don’t need to buy one.” We have a beautiful toddler, who is such a happy boy. I can’t forget about our dog Gracie! Oh & I’m related to Sarah (Nanny Mac)!
I can’t wait to meet you all & watch your swimming journey from outside the pool!

Scout
Hi I’m Scout, I’m 17 and I’m currently in year 12 at Wantirna College. One of the reasons I became a swim teacher is because I wanted to share my love for the water while helping others gain the skills and confidence to be safe and enjoy swimming.
I’m one of 4 kids with me being the middle, as well as my Mum (Caz) and my Dad (Ian). There’s my older brother Jac, my older sister Paige who you might know already because she also is a swim teacher here, then there’s me, and then there’s my younger sister Fraya.
I also have two dogs. One is called Frankie and she is a Border Collie cross Kelpie and my other dog Is called Nellie and she is a Blue Merle Border Collie.
Some things that interest me and that I love doing are going to the beach, swimming, surfing, playing sports, hanging out with friends, being with my family, going on holidays, and summer.
I currently play two sports, Footy and Basketball and I used to do athletics. I’ve played footy and have done athletics ever since I was little. Once I finish school the ultimate goal is to become an AFLW player but also, I would love to become a primary school PE teacher or something within the sporting industry.

Baiden
Hey, I’m Baiden, I am currently completing Year 12 and I’m all about sport, especially footy and basketball. I’m keen to turn my love for sport into a career, hopefully working with an AFL team one day.
Outside of that, I’ve got two amazing cats named Coal and Panda. I’m big on spending time with mates and family as they’re a massive part of my life and keep me grounded. We spend a lot of time at the beach.
I look forward to seeing you at the pool and helping you in your swimming journey!

Tillie
Hi my name is Tillie, I am currently completing high school and really enjoy doing art subjects.
Some of my favourite things to do are spending time at the beach, surfing and fishing. I also like hanging out with friends, watching movies, listening to music, and going out on the weekends. At school, I enjoy subjects where I can be creative and work on projects.
I have done many different sports growing up, including: gymnastics, dance, football and athletics. I even played a bit of netball for my school's team. I also have a cat who I love spending time with!
I can’t wait to meet you all and help you reach your full swimming potential!

Zoe
Hi I’m Zoe, I started swimming at this exact pool when I was six months old until I was eight! I’ve always loved being part of this amazing, friendly family for years. I have a younger sister who swam here and was taught by Sarah and Aimee, which is pretty cool!
Besides swimming, I love to dance, specifically calisthenics, which I’ve been doing since I was three years old and is a huge part of my life.
Ever since I was little, I’ve been swimming, taking lessons, and even competing in various competitions and Mini Squad. Outside of the pool, I love snorkelling and surfing, having been lucky enough to swim in incredible places such as the Great Barrier Reef, Rottnest Island and along the coast of Perth.
To all the new kids I’ll be teaching, I can’t wait to meet you and I'm looking forward to learning and growing together in a safe, fun, and supportive environment, where I can hopefully help you enjoy the water as much as I do.

Cass
Hi I’m Cass,
I started swimming when I was 6 years old and I have always loved swimming. I’m studying to work in early childhood education with young children.
I play volleyball and have been for 12 years. I also coach volleyball and have been coaching for 6 years and I coach a girls State League team. I do Scouts as well and have done since I was 6. Within Scouts I get to do things like snorkelling, white water rafting and go overseas to places like Europe. I love going to the beach to go boogie boarding.
I’m looking forward to meeting and getting to know you and your kids.
