Swim and Survive

Swim and Survive is a swimming and water safety initiative of Royal Life Saving that seeks to increase swimming and water safety skills of Australian children in order to prevent drowning and increase participation in safe aquatic activity. Swim and survive is delivered in pools, schools and other aquatic locations across the country by qualified swimming and water safety instructions.

We are a registered licensee, enabling us to deliver the accredited Swim and Survive program.

We are also a member of Swim Australia: www.swimaustralia.org.au

Royal Lifesaving and Poolwerx have released a number of information booklets and checklists aimed at reducing the number of children drowning each year. “Keep Watch” is this year’s theme – at the pool, at home, in the bath and on the farm. Please take one of the booklets or the home pool safety checklist and remind ourselves it is up to us – supervise, restrict access, encourage water awareness and learn to resuscitate.

We also have a number of articles up on the noticeboard – please take the time to have a read. They cover general water safety and parental influence, particularly in baby classes.

One of the articles we have an our wall at the pool is the story of Xavier – it is worth a read.
